How long does CBD Stay in the System?

If you’re someone who is curious about how long cannabinoids stay in your body, you’re not alone. We know  that THC has a specific type of life in your body and exists for a certain period of time but what about CBD? Well it’s a little bit different , and we’ll discuss the metabolizing of CBD, and how long this can stay within  the system, depending on the type of person that you are.

How long can it Stay?

This varies, but in general, it stays for up to 7 days, and usually, metabolized at around  10 mg a day based on the dosage, so it can be up to 21 days for those who are heavy users. It does get affected based on the method of delivery, your personal metabolism, how much you use it, the dosage ,and also the age. When you’re older you metabolize things slower, including drugs and CBD. There are also other factors too such as lifestyle, and other drugs that might interact with it.

Usually, you feel these effects quite quickly, but unlike THC which intoxicates you, CBD is a bit different, and it’s much slower with a better sense of happiness and overall well-being as well.

Methods and time

There are also differences based on the methods of delivery, and how you have them. For instance, with flowers, you can feel this up to 20 minutes after you have it, and they last a few hours. It’s pretty quick, and effective. Oral of course is slower, but peaks around a few hours, and for CBD, it typically lasts for up to 6 hours or more. It's got low bioavailability, so it’s not that fast.

Then there is delivery by the nose. It’s fast, and it’s definitely a good alternative to those who use oral types of sprays, and usually, you only need a little bit in order to feel these effects, so a little goes a long way for a lot of users. Fully you’ve got the edibles types, and they usually are quite slow, but they can provide long-term relief, especially if you’re in pain. There is a low bioavailability, but it does work. Usually, you have to just look at the type of product to figure it out, but there are also other factors too. The higher the dosage, the quicker it tends to be metabolized, which is pretty good for feeling those effects.

CBD and Testing

Some people may wonder a little bit about using CBD for drug tests, or if it’s detected. It can be, but usually that doesn’t mean that you’ll fail it, depending on the situation that’s there. CBD does like to store itself within the fat molecules, so if you have a higher BMI, there is a chance that you will get a higher amount of CBD within a longer period of time.

This is also due to the solubility of the lipids, which is a fancy word for how it manages to dissolve within the fats, and also the volume of this. So do you need to worry? Well, if it’s only CBD then no, don’t worry about that. But if you’re someone who also uses  THC products, then you will run into the issue of possible positives from this, and if you take a whole lot of CBD, this can also trigger a false positive.

Overall, if you absolutely need to use it, then talk to your doctor about this, and see if they can make accommodations for you, and the needs you have as well.
